The West Coast of Scotland is always bustling with great things to do and see, so here we have chosen just a few things on offer this September that you can’t miss!

Fifty minutes north of Loch Melfort, lies the fishing village of Tarbert in Kintyre and it is festival time at Tarbert this September. The Tarbert Music Festival is a great weekend with a full programme of new, local and established bands playing throughout the village. It offers music sessions in the local bars which anyone can join in with.

Easdale Island is located only a 40 minute drive north west of our hotel. There you can visit the Easdale folk museum and learn all about the history of the island or even walk to the top of the Island to enjoy some stunning views out to the Hebrides.

You can explore the local wildlife up close in their natural habitat by taking a boat trip with providers such as Seafari Adventures around Easdale Island. The trip lasts around two hours starting in Ellenabeich and gives you a chance to see the famous Corryvreckan whirlpools.

The village of Ellenabeich is where you will take the boat to the Island and is also a place worth spending some time, it is a relaxing village with beautiful scenery allowing for just a gentle stroll to take in the beauty of the west coast.

Easdale Island was also once home to the slate mining industry, and the unused water-filled quarries offer the perfect place to hold the World Stone Skimming Championships. It makes for an exciting day out for everyone and any skill level will be accepted to enter the competition, so why not have a go? The event will be held on Sunday 26th September.
