We take our wines very seriously here at Loch Melfort, with each wine on our wine list chosen very carefully to ensure it complements our menu. We update our list annually, ensuring we are serving the best wines available. A new addition to our wine list this season comes all the way from Australia. Produced by Chocolate Box, in the Barossa Valley in South Australia, the ‘Zesty Chocolate 2013’ is a Sémillon/Sauvignon blend.
A soft and mellow white, Zesty Chocolate is a place straw colour with fresh notes of peach, nectarine and melon on the nose. It is a very fruity wine, with a refreshing palate, but a zesty citrus finish that doesn’t lose any of its creaminess.
Although not one of the most chocolatey wines in the Chocolate Box range, Zesty Chocolate pairs exceptionally well with many of our fish dishes, but can also accompany richer white meats like sauced chicken and pork.
