A spine-chilling time was had by almost 70 people recently when the Walking Theatre Company returned to Arduaine Garden. Their unearthly production of ‘The Haunted Garden’, a double murder mystery, was performed among the shrubs and across the lawns of Arduaine as the shades of evening fell on this historic but obviously troubled place.

The Head Gardener, recently returned in spirit from his unfortunate death at the Battle of Culloden where he was set upon by a horde of hairy Highlanders, kept a watchful eye on the proceedings, accompanied by his two feline Spirit Guides!

Spectator participation being the order of the dusk, several members of the audience who misguidedly maintained eye contact with the cast were called upon to ghost a number of spooky characters such as Claire Voyant,  Vlad the Inhaler and the inimitable Mr Paul T. Geist, the family lawyer. The customary peace of this tranquil place was shattered more than once when blood-curdling shrieks rang through the twilight and the unfortunate victim staggered into view! Who dunnit? Ah! That would be telling!

Altogether a really spectr-acular night – quite a scream in fact!”
