Hogmanay 2015

There can be few days in the year in Scotland as important as New Year’s Eve, or Hogmanay, as it is traditionally called. As the sun sets on 2015, we invite you to welcome in 2016 with an unforgettable stay at Loch Melfort Hotel and a traditional Scottish celebration of the New Year.

Arrive at your leisure and make yourself at home.

The Chartroom II Bar and Bistro will be open all day for meals and snacks. Relax with a winter cocktail or wee dram in front of the fire and enjoy the spectacular view from the lounge.

We have a mouth-watering 4-course gourmet meal for you in store which will be served in our Asknish Bay Restaurant, followed by coffee next to the log fire in the lounge.

31 December – Hogmanay

Spend the day exploring the beautiful landscape around the hotel or if you are feeling more adventurous, our reception staff will be more than happy to book many of the activities on offer in the area: cruises, tours, horse riding, to name but a few.

If you need to replenish your energy after an active afternoon and before the evening’s festivities, The Chartroom II will be serving delicious bar lunches including our legendary langoustines, scallops and mussels.

Before dinner, our guests are heartily invited to the cocktail lounge for a complimentary cocktail and canapés.

Our magnificent seven-course Hogmanay Banquet will then be served in the Asknish Bay Restaurant from 6.00 – 9.30pm, offering a variety of our finest produce from the region, prepared with expertise, care and innovation by our Head Chef Michael Knowles.

From 10.30pm a local band will set the scene with traditional Scottish music and at midnight a piper will pipe in the New Year – a stirring event which you are sure to look back on fondly for years to come. We will toast your health with a complimentary black bun and a dram “for auld lang syne”. Welcome 2016!

Our New Year celebrations usually develop in their own way here at Loch Melfort, but dancing some Scottish reels is usually part of the program so remember to bring your dancing shoes!
