We were delighted to be awarded a 4-star rating by Visit Scotland, who recognise us as a “…well-managed and well-presented property where all guests are assured of a warm west coast welcome and comfortable stay”.
Calum and Rachel Celebrate Ten Years at Loch Melfort Hotel
In September, our owners Calum and Rachel celebrated their first ten years at Loch Melfort. With it’s stunning views and tranquillity, the hotel is a special place for so many and long may that continue! They would like to say a big thank you to all their guests and staff, both past and present, for allowing them to enjoy the challenges and the fun along the way.
The Highlands and Islands Named One of Top Places in The World to Visit by Lonely Planet
This year we were delighted to hear that the Highlands and Islands were named as one of the top places in the world to visit next year by respected travel guide Lonely Planet. One of the coveted top 10 spots was earned due to the area’s abundance of wildlife and natural beauty, alongside it’s fantastic offering of fresh seafood. The growing number of distilleries opening in the area, due to a recent whisky boom, was also a key factor in the travel guide publisher’s decision making.

The Budget Savvy Travelers visited Loch Melfort Hotel for three nights to enjoy our 17 acres of gardens and beach on the romantic coast of Argyll. They took some time out to explore the area and take this brilliant video of their relaxing stay with us.
Old Friends…
What a joy it was to welcome Mr & Mrs Ricketts back to Loch Melfort this year. The couple met when they both worked and lived at the hotel 30 years ago and it was fascinating to listen their stories of the hotel in the past. They were joined by their son and his fiancé, who were engaged and came to the hotel to celebrate. Congratulations!

A Year of Dogs!
This year we welcomed many dogs to Loch Melfort and we are very proud to be a dog friendly hotel. We sadly also said goodbye to our beloved Toby, who was the best family dog you could wish for. We have decided that from now on dogs will be allowed in the Bistro anytime of the day – great news for dog walkers!
