Guests can now enjoy the charm of Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at Loch Melfort Hotel, with the days spent perfecting or learning a new skill.
Along with Bill Baillie’s Photography Workshops, local artist Karen Liversedge, is now running pattern cutting and creative experience workshops from her workshop in nearby Kilmelford.
Karen graduated from London College of Fashion and served her design apprenticeship with independent retailers, established high street stores and IPC Magazines. She then headed up teams in the UK and Morocco using her design and technical skills for some of the largest fashion manufacturers in the industry, whose clients included Ralph Lauren and Marks and Spencer whose business took her to Paris and Istanbul.
Her 1.5 hour short courses range from sessions looking at colour trends in fashion or interiors, transforming a 2D pattern piece into a 3D shaped piece by dart manipulation or introduction to fabric cutting.
Longer two day courses look at skirt or bodice block, calico prototype (Toile) and pattern adaptation. These can be made to measure or for size 12 standard.
