Kerrien lives in Achnamara on the West Coast of Scotland in Argyll and is inspired to paint by the wild beauty of this landscape. Originally from Cornwall, Kerrien has painted for many years and started exhibiting regularly after moving to Argyll.
The unpredictable and (often!) wet weather in Argyll creates a spectrum of ever shifting light that can change the way a particular seascape, headland or woodland appears. Kerrien aspires to capture this in her paintings, using the rich colours and flexibility that she finds with oils. She enjoys experimenting with the textures and effects that she can achieve, aiming to illustrate the movement and light of the landscape.
Kerrien works from her studio in Achnamara, with weather filled walks at every opportunity, to make the most of the mountain views and sea scapes all around her.
