Not only does our food ethos include buying local produce, almost everything is homemade at Loch Melfort Hotel, from bread, to marmalade, ice-cream and even our very own Scottish tablet, the exquisite local confectionery delight!

Our guests look forward to the start of their meal when their bread plate comes out as much as any other course, with our much loved sun dried tomato, walnut or multi seed breads to name but a few, along with homemade black olive and rosemary butter.


Since joining Loch Melfort in June, Head Chef Peter has made it his mission to make sure all our cakes from the bistro are homemade and utterly delicious!

He has also continued with our latest venture of selling our wonderful jams and marmalade’s that were once only available at breakfast but now available to buy and be taken home with you as a little bit of Melfort at your own breakfast table. They make wonderful gifts too! Tablet and Fudge will soon be available to buy too.
