A full itinerary of food, drink and entertainment for you to enjoy.
30th December
Arrive at leisure and settle into your room, where a few special homemade treats await. We hope they will help you to get into the festive spirit of your time with us! We look forward to welcoming you into the lounge on your first evening. Enjoy a special winter cocktail or one of the many local gins and relax by the open fire. A light lunch will be available throughout the Hogmanay period in the lounge.
On your first evening, a 4-course gourmet dinner will be served in our restaurant, followed by coffee and homemade petit fours in the lounge.
New Year’s Eve
After a hearty breakfast, there will be plenty of time for a walk around the grounds and meet our three Highland cows or venture out a little way in the car perhaps taking in Kilmartin Glen with its plethora of neolithic monuments; or a gentle stroll along Crinan Canal.
As the special evening approaches, we give guests the option to join us in dressing up for the occasion – tartan and trews just add to the magic! We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to a delightful evening and a bit of sparkle just adds to the excitement! Before dinner, you are invited to come to the lounge for a cocktail or soft drink and homemade canapés and then indulge in our magnificent 7-course Hogmanay Banquet, featuring the best of local produce – served in our restaurant between 6 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.
As the evening progresses, we introduce some fabulous Scottish music from two talented youngsters from Oban; James on accordion and Rebekah singing and playing the fiddle. Both of them have been part of the ‘Argyll Ceilidh Trail’ in their time, so we are very honoured to have them perform for us. At midnight James will pipe in the New Year and we serve up our own traditional ‘black bun’ along with a ‘wee dram’ for all. Entertainment at Loch Melfort has a life of its own – dancing some Scottish reels is usually part of the program and often the locals come in with their own instruments and keep things going until the very wee hours…
New Year’s Day
Blow the cobwebs away with a gentle stroll or bracing walk before our magnificent brunch served between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
This will set you up for the day ahead if you wish to venture out – or why not just put your feet up and admire the beautiful views.
In the evening, our delicious seafood buffet, which showcases the best local and Scottish seafood, will be served in our restaurant between 7 and 9 p.m.

For non-residents, our 7 course Hogmanay Banquet is £74 per person and New Year’s day Seafood Buffet is £49 per person. Both bookings require a 50% deposit.
