Gin is always a popular drink during the summer months, working well in either a cocktail or a classic and refreshing G&T. One of our favourites is the elegant and refreshing Gordon Castle Gin, which is perfect to relax with as you enjoy the views from Loch Melfort.

Gordon Castle is located in Moray, right in the heart of Speyside in the Highlands. The distillation process draws on the beauty of its location, with many of the botanicals used in the gin grown in the Walled Garden on the estate. The botanicals are then carefully blended and distilled to allow the full flavour of the botanicals to develop and help capture an essence of Scotland.

Some of Gordon Castle’s botanicals include gooseberry, mint and lavender, all of which are grown and handpicked from the estate’s Walled Garden.

Gordon Castle Gin is one of our favourites because of its fresh floral taste, with its mix of botanicals giving it a uniquely crisp and fresh flavour. Its crispness adds an elegance to the gin and leaves a lovely clean palate, with lovely notes of lavender and mint adding to its character.

Its taste is very crisp and summery, with the clean flavours making it very versatile and pairing well with various garnishes. We recommend garnishing it with lemon or lime and a sprig of mint. It works well in both a G&T and a Martini, and is very drinkable neat.
