Zara has worked for the hotel for 4 years now. Coming to us from Stonefield Castle where she worked for 6 years, she started on the housekeeping team. Zara’s organisation skills, attention to detail and commitment to the hotel and its guests impressed us so much that the role of Head Housekeeper was created for her.
Zara is responsible for ordering all the bedroom and cleaning supplies, the housekeeping rota, managing the team daily and ultimately making sure every room is perfect for our guests. She personally checks each room every day before giving it her seal of approval – which this year is an actual seal – she places a covid seal around your door to show she was the last one in and the room is safe.
We are so pleased that Zara accepted the role we offered her – although initially reluctant to take on a leadership position she has absolutely shone in the role, coming up with many improvements as head of the department.
Zara lives in Lochgilphead, about 30 minutes from the hotel and has done most of her life. She has 3 children who keep her busy and she enjoys spending her days off going places with them. She plans to try and visit more places in Scotland with them once lockdown is lifted.
Zara’s local recommendations: “There are plenty of forest walks in the area and the Crinan Canal is a lovely walk to do if the weather is kind to us! Ardrishaig to Crinan is 9 miles”.
