It’s cold outside, but that doesn’t mean that you have to go into hibernation during your visit to Argyll. We’ve pulled together some of our favourite ways to beat the Winter blues and enjoy some of best things to do in Scotland in Winter.
Take the dog for a walk
Not only will your pooch love you for it, but it’s been proven that dog walkers enjoy numerous health and social benefits. These benefits include improved cardiovascular fitness, lower blood pressure and decreased stress. Did you know that we have dog friendly rooms? We’re also lucky enough to be situated right next to Argyll’s famous Arduaine gardens, the perfect place for a stroll
Guided tour of the Hollow Mountain
Did you know that buried deep within the mountain of Ben Cruachan (just a short trip from Oban) there is a power station housed inside a huge cavern, high enough to house the Tower of London! This underground world is open for the public to tour and is the perfect place to blow your mind on a dreary day.
Make your own chocolate
The school holidays can be a drag when it’s cold and blustery outside. So why not forget about that new years diet and take the kids to a chocolate workshop at the Oban Chocolate Co? The workshops only run during the school breaks, but there are two big ones at the start of the year (you can visit the calendar here). Kids enjoy a brief chocolate history before getting the chance to try their hand at chocolate and truffle making. Mums and dads are welcome to sit nearby and enjoy a coffee while they entertain the kids!
Let them eat cake
Whilst we’re on the subject of chocolates … if leaving the comfort of our hotel sounds like too much effort, why sink into one of our sofas with a hot drink and sweet treat in our lounge? With one of our gift vouchers, guests can choose from a freshly baked scone or a slice of cake along with a tea or coffee.
With the festive season a distant memory, what could be better than a relaxing hotel break to see you through the rest of Winter? take a look at our Winter Warmer Offer and give yourself something to look forward to. Just £125 for dinner, bed, breakfast and wine.
