Wildlife Diary

The Loch Melfort area abounds with diverse mammals, birds, marine life, insects, flora and fauna and many of our guests delight in telling us their wildlife sightings.

Perhaps you've seen a golden eagle riding the thermals, dolphins jumping through the waves, or a rare orchid hiding in the grass. Whatever you've seen, we would like to know about it, so please fill in the details of your sighting on our wildlife diary form and come back often to keep up with the latest wildlife sightings.

Gannet

Harry spotted a Gannet on Monday, 21 April 2014 at 08:00

I saw a pair of gannets circling in Asknish Bay then both dived in to catch some fish. The speed they hit the water at is incredible and really exciting to watch!
