I saw a beautiful heron standing at the shoreline in Asknish Bay this morning. It looked as if it wasn’t doing much then its head darted into the water and came up with a small fish for breakfast!

First sighting of a red so close to the hotel. Sitting in my office looking out the window,the red leapt from tree to tree at the entrance of the NTS car-park and the scurried along the ground the field in front of Old Cottage.

Saw two herons today (5.30am and 6pm) flying over. Also saw three buzzards soaring.
