Scotlands Summer Sun

July 11, 2013 by Alison Norfolk

Day 5 of the heat wave and it’s still going strong, with guests enjoying the sun over Asknish bay from the breakfast table, right up to pre dinner drinks and nightcaps out on the deck. Those in the Bistro can enjoy their whole meal al fresco watching the highland cows take shade in their fields and yachts sailing by. We have 4 moorings ourselves for those who fancy sailing over for supper (Lat 56-13-907 – Long 5-33-177).

During the day there are plenty of activities, such as visiting the amazing beaches the nearby Islands are famous for or cooling off by visiting Croabh Haven Water Sports just around the corner for kayaking or sailing lessons. Wildlife boats and trips to the Corryvreckan, the third largest whirlpool in the world, set off from Craobh Haven, Ardfern, Seil or Oban and are a great way to experience Scotland from a new vantage point, especially if you see a dolphin or two! During low tide we have our very own little beach down by the shore, perfect for paddling or even a pre dinner swim if you’re brave enough.

Oban really comes alive during the summer months and never looks better than when basking in the rays from the sun. Seafood is landed here, amongst other local villages, daily and arrives straight to your plate in a matter of hours.

Check out our latest offers and book your summer holiday in the sun without having to go abroad here!
