A Highland Tipi Wedding

August 14, 2014 by Alison Norfolk

Last Saturday saw our biggest wedding yet with around 140 guests joining us to celebrate the marriage of Amy and James O’Brien. Instead of our usual dining room, the location of the reception was in 3 large tipis in our grounds, with a makeshift kitchen and bar.

Preparation for the tipis started back in the winter when the ground had to be slightly levelled, followed by the main work starting Monday onwards when the tipis started to go up. A marquee to house the kitchen also had to be made alongside.

After a week of intermittent showers, the whole day was blessed with glorious sunshine meaning guests could make good use of all the grounds for pictures and for breaks in proceedings.
