Easter Eggstravaganza

Monday, April 19th, 2010

A sunny Easter Eggstravaganza was held recently at the NTS Arduaine Garden next door to Loch Melfort Hotel. A fabulous sunny day really helped boost the numbers coming to visit and join in the Cadbury Easter Egg trail and the extra Easter activites put on by the Arduaine Garden Support Group.

Face painting, easter egg painting and egg throwing competitions kept the kids occupied, whilst the adults also enjoyed a stroll around the Spring flowers. With some of the early Rhododendrons adding a splash of colour, it was a magnificent day all round.

Wonderful Spring Wedding of Sarah and Colin

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

We recently hosted a wonderful Spring wedding outside on the beach. Nothing could deter the 60 guests at Sarah and Colin’s wedding from joining them (in the pouring rain) down on the rocks by the boat house for a fabulous wet wedding! Guests were pre-warned to bring wellies, rugs and umbrellas just in case the heavens opened.

And it poured with rain just as the bride and her bridal party left the hotel to walk down to the rocks, so it was a good job the guests were prepared! But true to Argyll form, as the rings were exchanged the sun came out and some magical photos were taken as Sarah and Colin became husband and wife.

As Sarah has a wheat intolerance, she chose a cheese wedding cake instead of the traditional fruit or sponge! Colin enjoyed putting the cake together with a wonderful selection of Scottish cheeses.
