Terms and Conditions

Online Booking Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions detailed below apply to all online bookings at www.lochmelfort.co.uk. Please note that for promotional bookings the relevant terms and conditions should be consulted.

When you make a booking, your contract (which shall include these terms and conditions) will be with Loch Melfort Hotel, registered address Loch Melfort Hotel, Arduaine, Oban PA34 4XG

Dinner reservations and nail treatments cannot be guaranteed on line. If your booking includes dinner, please contact the hotel direct to book your dining time if you are not flexible (between 7pm and 9pm daily) prior to completion of your online booking. Please note that the price being offered currently cannot be guaranteed should you not complete your booking at this stage.

All rates featured on the Loch Melfort Hotel are offered subject to availability and Loch Melfort Hotel reserves the right to refuse any booking for good reason.

Pricing

All prices shown online are in £’s per room per night (unless otherwise stated) based on 1 or 2 people sharing a classic twin or double room for one or more consecutive night stays, except for certain holiday periods where a minimum 2, 3 or 4 night stay may apply. These rates apply to pre-booked stays only.

All prices include Value Added Tax at the current prevailing rate.

Prices are subject to change without notice. However, your price is guaranteed once you are given a written confirmation number.

For the avoidance of doubt, your price does not include any incidental charges, which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, in respect of your use of the hotel’s bar and the costs of external telephone calls from your room). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with Loch Melfort Hotel that you irrevocably authorise Loch Melfort Hotel to debit your credit or debit card (see ‘Deposits and Pre-payments’ below) for the amount of any shortfall.

As of Monday 11 January 2010, all credit card transactions completed at the hotel will have an administration surcharge of £2.00 added to the total bill. This charge DOES NOT apply to DEBIT card transactions. Owing to the costs charged to us by credit card companies, we have no option but to implement this charge.

What the Price Includes

Website prices include twin or double bedrooms with colour TV, direct dial telephone and private en suite bathroom. Due to our location, there is no mobile phone reception in hotel rooms, but it is available on the path outside the Bistro.

The prices shown online are not valid in conjunction with any other offer and, until you have received your confirmation number, are subject to change without prior notice. References to midweek rates are for Monday through to Thursday nights and weekend rates apply for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Availability

Availability of rooms at the rates shown online may be limited and/or restricted to certain periods.

During major sporting events, social events, conferences and exhibitions, the same rates may not be available.

Suites

Single Guests

Individual guests using a double or twin room are charged the standard per person rate and single supplement rate, as shown online.

Children

Children under the age of 2 can stay free, when sharing a room with 2 paying adults on the same meal basis. Children from the ages of 3 to 12 will be charged at £27.00 per child per night (this covers the cost of bed & breakfast. All other meals will be charged for as taken), when sharing a room with 2 paying adults where a suitable room is available. Availability of suitable rooms is limited and portable z beds will need to be used where such accommodation is sought. Children over 12 will be charged the full adult rate

Hotel reception is available to take your booking 7 days a week from 8.00am to 11.00pm. If you make a booking through Loch Melfort Hotel website booking system or direct with the hotel, you will be asked to guarantee your booking with a deposit by credit or debit card.

We are listed on Lovetoescape who also have a great range of Holiday Accommodation including Self-Catering on the West Coast of Scotland and Lake District Cottages.

Deposits and Pre-Payments

A non-refundable deposit of £60 per room for a one night stay/£125 for more than two nights or a pre payment will normally be required and, where required, will be taken, at the time of booking, in accordance with the provisions applying to the product and rate selected by you. In any event, you are required to guarantee your booking with a valid credit or debit card at the time of booking. Payment (where no deposit or prepayment is required or otherwise of any balance due) will be taken upon departure. In the event of cancellation payment will be taken in accordance with our cancellation terms. See “Cancellations and Amendments” below for details.

Balance of Monies Outstanding

Prior to your departure from the hotel you will be required to settle your bill. If you are settling your account in cash, you will be asked for a deposit to cover the cost of your room for your stay (and any extras which you may incur in the hotel will not be chargeable to your room account). Loch Melfort Hotel accepts all major credit cards, except American Express. Alternatively, payment can be made by cheque supported by a current cheque guarantee card.

Cancellations and Amendments

All cancellations must be made in accordance with our cancellation terms below.

Most of the rates featured on the Loch Melfort Hotel website may be cancelled without further charge up to 2 weeks before arrival. The non-refundable deposit can also be used against a further stay within six months of the original arrival date. However, cancellation terms may vary according to the type of rate which you have booked, for example our Christmas and Hogmanay packages are non-refundable and final payment is taken 4 weeks before the event. A cancellation charge equal to the total cost of the first nights stay, less the deposit already paid will be due with cancellations within 48 hours of arrival. A cancellation charge equal to the total cost of the whole stay, less the deposit already paid will be due with Cancellation on day of arrival.

Where a cancellation is not made in accordance with our applicable cancellation terms, we reserve the right to charge you for the first night’s accommodation. A cancellation number must be obtained to ensure that such charges will not be levied.

Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests which you may have in relation to your stay with us, we cannot unfortunately guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests which you may make and our failure in this regard will not constitute a breach of contract.

In the unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However, you have the right to:

  • accept the changed arrangements as notified; or
  • make alternative arrangements with Loch Melfort hotel; or
  • cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of any monies which you have paid to Loch Melfort Hotel in respect of your reservation (please note that we shall not be liable for any sums which you have paid to any other persons in connection with your reservation).

For the avoidance of doubt, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any online booking.

Complaints or Comments

Any complaint or comment regarding a stay at our hotel should be made in the first instance to the hotel’s duty manager at the time of your stay so that it can be resolved at the time.

Problems which cannot be resolved there and then should be notified in writing to Calum and Rachel Ross, Loch Melfort Hotel, Arduaine, Oban PA34 4XG.
